Default Google Earth..

Has anyone seen this? This program is insane, leave it to google to do something as massive as this. Basically , you can fly anywere in the world and zoom in to a resolution that you can see individual cars and areas.. On a 3D topographical map with 3D buildings availble on major cities.. You can even set up GPS points with this and get directions..

Post a picture of your area..

Im in the left "L" shaped building near the foreground.

This is Pittsburgh
Im in the left "L" shaped building near "North Park", my college is twoards the top of this map, on the south shore on the north side of the river. I walk there every day..

This is actually really hillarious, This was after the huge flood, and yes those are boats washed up on the fountain hahaa. I was there that day, i cant belive they picked that day out of any to take sattelite photos of pittsburgh. Look at that boat thats all the way to the right of the photo..

Yes you can, but many places, particularly the areas outside of cities, are taken with low resolution pictures, which won't really show specific streets and houses, but rather just a spot on the map. I hope they do a complete high-res patch of it soon.

does anyone else besides me find this as a HUGE security risk, i mean come on, lets just hand the terrorists keys to the country and let them have their way

we just make it too easy for them by doing stuff like this...

I think they can afford to buy a map for whatever city they want to attack....

- Shit guys! Google Earth went down! How the hell are we going to find the Golden Gate Bridge now!?

Just thought about it....so what? They're hardly high enough detailed or even updated enough to monitor anything, and even if that ever happens, what then? Are they are more able to plant a bomb in a metro than before because they can find out where they want to go easier than having to either search google for a detailed map, or just buy one? Such a task that is!

About the worst they could do was plot GPS points on the map to quardinate a terrorist attack.. Wich you could easily get sattelite photos now, and set up GPS points that way.

Its sort of wierd, some areas are pretty high quality, even some remote areas, and other areas are somewhat low quality. For now its random. Im sure thell update it as they get them

That reminds me
Weres area 51

Ask and you shall receive ;D

Its not much of a security risk, its not like Bush is there anyway. Youll have to search texas for that.

you can't child proof cap the world.

A terrorist could easily drop a highly communicable and deadly disease on the ground while walking down the street. Don't need a map for that.

Google earth is pretty cool though.

you know, a terrorist could also take a tour of the White House. Should we stop them also?

We have the corporate version at work (that gets updated weekly) and run it off a remote server.. it's so awesome! And with the corporate one, you can zoom in further, too.
